Executive Team

  • Finn Liu | Executive Director

    A senior at Fraser Heights Secondary School, Finn is thrilled to serve as the Executive Director for the A.WARE foundation. Passionate about ceramics and clay, he believes that art acts as a medium that allows anyone to express themselves in the best ways possible. Understanding the importance of advocacy for all voices, Finn hopes that A.WARE is able to be a platform for change that elevates the voices of people of all abilities. He hopes to make these mediums more accessible to others in a safe and inclusive space through working with his amazing team.

  • Briana Chen | Vice Executive

    An incoming senior at Crofton House School, Briana is excited to continue as the Vice Executive. Ever since Briana was young she has been passionate about art through scribbling on walls, dancing and now learning to create art that reflects who she is as a person. As she is now getting familiar with her artistic practices, through A.WARE Briana hopes to connect with community members about issues such as neurodiversity, mental health and accessibility. At the same time engaging with the community to spread the power of art, as it is not only expressive but also inspirational.

  • Yeonsoo Lee | Director of Operations

    A senior at Crofton House School, Yeonsoo is delighted to be the Director of Operations for A.WARE Foundation this year. Yeonsoo is passionate about all mediums of art, more specifically painting, design, and filmmaking. She believes that art is something that is able to ground her even through hectic times. Through working with her fellow A.WARE team, Yeonsoo hopes to be able to expand art to all individuals.

  • Hayley Mah | Digital Editor

    A grade 10 student at Crofton House School, Hayley is a passionate advocate for bringing attention to contemporary issues and showcasing emerging talents. Through her work, she’s been able to connect with a variety of inspiring and ambitious individuals, and is excited to expand how stories can be presented through a variety of media. Her dedication to the performing arts like acrobatics, dance, and singing underscores her belief that art is a dynamic and fluid idea, open to diverse interpretations across identities. She’s delighted with every opportunity to promote modern perspectives on neurodiversity, and is ready to see where A.WARE develops in the future!

  • Arsene Zhu - Digital Editor

    Arsene is super excited to be working as a Digital Editor at the A.WARE Foundation! Currently going into her junior year at Southridge, she believes that art is a universal language for expression, and as an autistic person with a deep passion for art, she has seen how art can transform lives for the better. She can't wait to share her passion for art while empowering people of all abilities!

  • Sydney Cook | Digital Editor

    An autistic disability advocate from San Diego, California, Sydney is excited to be entering her third year working with A.WARE foundation as a digital editor. As a musician and visual artist, Sydney knows firsthand the power that art and creative expression can have to positively transform someone’s life. She is looking forward to continuing her role sharing important stories that examine the relationships between disability, neurodiversity and the arts. She hopes her work exposes people to new perspectives on what neurodivergent and disabled people are capable of.

  • Angela Li | Director of Programs

    A junior at Fraser Heights Secondary, Angela is ecstatic to be part of the A.WARE Foundation as the Director of Programs. From her explorations of dance, piano, drawing, and countless Pinterest searches, Angela understands that art can take on various beautiful and fun forms. Art is limitless when it comes to expressing imagination and feelings. During her time at A.WARE, Angela hopes to help others experience the joy that comes from creating art in a fun and welcoming manner.

  • Corina Yao | Programs Coordinator

    A junior at Fraser Heights Secondary, Corina is excited to continue her A.WARE journey as Program Coordinator. She has always loved the way art has no right or wrong and you just let your creativity flow through. Playing piano for 10+ years and exploring art through many different mediums, she is happy to bring art and make it fun for people of diverse. Art is expressive and so so important and she hopes to share the happiness of creating it with everyone. Another year at A.WARE and she hopes to this time reach out to even more people and spread the power of art!

  • Victoria Chen | Director of Outreach

    A junior at Fraser Heights Secondary, Victoria is excited to be a Director of Outreach for the A.WARE Foundation. She believes that no matter who you are and what you are capable of, art is a way to spread joy and bring people together. Whether it be forming new connections or experiencing the fulfillment of contributing to a meaningful cause, Victoria’s decision to join A.WARE has proven to be a rewarding one. During her time on the A.WARE Foundation team, she hopes to raise awareness around disabilities and make a difference in her community.

  • Ole Ho - Director of Outreach

    Going into his junior year, Ole is excited to be part of the A.WARE foundation as a Director of Outreach. He believes that art is a meaningful way to express and communicate one’s thoughts and perspectives. He hopes that through A.WARE, he can spread to more people different mediums of art can in an interesting way, as well as encourage a safe, inclusive environment for everyone in a comfortable way.

  • Gloria Yu | Director of Marketing

    A senior at Crofton House School, Gloria has always loved doodling and drawing during her free time. She loves the freedom that art provides and the ability to fully express herself with fun colours and splashes of paint. As the director of marketing for A.WARE this year, she hopes to share the excitement and passion of the foundation members with everyone.

  • Summit Kawakami | Director of Web Design

    Summit is a Junior at Webber Academy, in Alberta. Summit fell in love with art, particularly music, from a young age. For Summit, it is an escape from reality for 15 blissful minutes as he plays at the piano and hears the music flow out of thin air. As director of web development, Summit is excited to utilize web design and the internet to spread A.WARE’s cause and bring the joy of art to many.
